Is my image uploaded?

For this tool, yes — inpainting cannot run in a browser. That is disclosed on the page above the Run button, and nothing is sent until you press it. Every local tool on this site still uploads nothing at all.

Why does the result sometimes look wrong?

Inpainting invents pixels. The more of the scene it has to invent — a large mask, a complex background, a face — the more likely the result is unconvincing. Small objects on simple backgrounds work best.

Why is it marked beta?

It works, but output quality varies a lot by image. It stays beta, and out of search indexing, until it is consistently good.

What if nothing happens when I press Run?

If the deployment has no AI provider configured, the page tells you that instead of showing the tool at all.

Erasing something from a photo is easy; making the hole look like it was never there is not. Filling the gap requires a model that understands what the surrounding scene should continue into, which is why a clone-stamp never quite convinces on anything but flat texture.

This runs a diffusion inpainting model. You paint a rough mask over what should go, the image and the mask are sent to the configured provider, and the masked region comes back regenerated from its surroundings. It is a cloud step, and the page says so plainly before anything is sent.

Paint roughly over what you want gone. The mask does not need to be precise — the model works from the region, not from an exact outline.

The removed area is reconstructed from the surrounding scene rather than cloned from a nearby patch, so continuous backgrounds stay continuous.

The image is loaded, decoded and masked entirely in your browser. The upload happens on the Run button and not before.

Send the output straight to the universal editor to crop, resize, compress or export it.

Specifications

Beta. This tool is implemented and runs through the configured cloud AI provider. If no provider is configured on this deployment the page says so and processes nothing — it never falls back to a fabricated result. It stays out of search indexing until output quality is consistently good enough to be worth ranking.
Implemented via the AIProvider abstraction. On Cloudflare Workers AI this uses stable-diffusion-v1-5-inpainting.
